"My, my," Daemon replied predatorily, eyes slitting with an emotion you couldn't quite decipher. He was good at that. At hiding his thoughts behind walls of shields. You supposed he had to be, given he was a Prince of the Realm and all. "Aren't you quite the temptation."

Daemon's lips curled up into something just a touch sinister, and the sight made the hairs on your arms stand at attention. An internal response to danger that you recognised all too well. You wouldn't back down, however. Not ever when it came to Daemon.

"You should be careful- inviting dangerous men into your bed. I don't know too many lords or ladies who would voluntarily invite dragons into their nests," he picked at a speck of grime under his nail, though you were under no illusions. He was watching you very carefully, reading you and your intentions.

"I assure you, my lord," you answered, attempting to placate the Prince with a submissive smile. "I have nothing but the most innocent intentions."

It was always like this with Daemon. He liked to play hard to get, and you liked the chase.

"I'm sure you do," he chuckled darkly, allowing you to take his hand and lead him towards your chambers.

Watching Ninjago Dragons Rising for the past few days as I gradually upgrade the screen size to be bigger and bigger- I love it so damn much it's so good!! Maybe cuz I'm a Lloyd kinnie (so sorry Jay Cole and Zane fans) and he's like... a star in this first half

I really find it absolutely hilarious how a lot of the scenes felt like this. (Filthy dragons may not eat here for example lol) and I do hope that the writers have not forgotten about it/retconned it cuz I do think it explains why Lloyd was the one who was able to be the source dragon's conduit - it makes sense in a way.

you mentioned phoebe, now you have to dish on phoebe!! what's she doing?? what's she like as raz's roomie??

i think out of all of the campers, Phoebe seems the most set on becoming a Psychonaut. she's just as passionate about it as Raz himself, and i think when they move in together she's been working a couple months as a new agent. she'd been sharing an apartment with Quentin, but after taking a year or so to think about his options he decides the Psychonauts aren't for him and goes to study music at college. so they're both young adults who have just started out on what they always thought would be their dream job... and figuring out what that actually looks like, in practice.

i think Raz and Phoebe make really good foils, because in so many ways they're so similar! they're both very passionate and dedicated people, they're both longtime performers (Raz with his acrobatics, Phoebe with her music), and obviously they both really care about the work they're doing with the Psychonauts. and that makes it a lot of fun to highlight their differences, too!

for Phoebe, her music is about expressing herself, about taking her feelings and letting them out through performance. she doesn't make art for anyone except herself. but Raz can't get over the fact that whenever he performs, it's for a crowd, and he needs people to enjoy it - because growing up, if people didn't come to their shows, they didn't eat*. he can never really get over the idea that his art has to be for someone, that it has to be good to be worthwhile.

i think they both have very strong opinions on their work, too! Raz's specialty is psychotherapy, projecting himself into peoples' minds. i see Phoebe as much more into the talking therapy side of things! they have long arguments about appropriate boundaries with patients, and hands-on vs hands-off techniques, and about how this study showed sixty percent improvement in the first session with this technique (but that study cites that the long-term benefits are less in comparison, so actually-)

in my head, there's a bit of a teething period for the first week or so when Raz moves in, and after that they just click. sometimes too-similar personalities can be like oil and water, but i think they're on a mutually compatible wavelength. they're diving into deep conversations at 1am, because they each see enough of themselves in the other person (and are both unrepentant armchair psychoanalysts) to get into the really revealing stuff. they write and record a concept album together about having a tense relationship with your family growing up, Phoebe on drums and Raz on acoustic guitar and both of them sharing the vocals. it sucks! but it's cathartic for them both! Phoebe's still got a copy of it on cassette somewhere in the back of her collection

(* the Aquato family are poor, but in my head they were never seriously at risk of going hungry. however Donatella definitely catastrophised enough times about a show going wrong and the whole family having to eat watered-down gruel for the next month that it stuck in little Raz's mind, hahaha)

So, to Dragon Raz, did anyone teach you how to control how you fly & stuff? I just felt curious enough to ask.

Most dragons learn flying from their parents.

Some dragons have powers and some doesn't.

Shivers slither down your spine at his tone. You know he can make good on his promise. He has before and you're sure that he will again. You should consider, perhaps, that it may not have been the most prudent of actions to irritate your husband so much. To rile him up.

It was only that you could not help how amusing you found it. Perhaps one day you'd learn your lesson, but today, it would seem, would not be that day.

"Is that a promise, my Lord," you teased, breath heavy and eyes glinting with mischief. Your Daemon could attempt to shape your behaviour any way he pleased, but you knew that deep down he loved the challenge.

You caught the glimpse of laughter in his eyes for only a moment- and then his hand was pressed against your throat, those blood-soaked fingers flexing against your windpipe. How many souls had these hands taken? How many lives? And now here they were, pressed against your throat. He could take your life if he so wanted. You both knew this to be true, but he would never allow anything to happen to you.

No. Daemon would march into the Next World on his own if he had to in order to bring you back to him. Nothing would keep the two of you apart, and that was the way you both liked it. Battles and wars were temporary- but yours and Daemon's games were eternal.
